From Manila to Aarhus: a trainee success story

Andrés applied through Bixter on a Tuesday. Eleven days later he had a signed agreement with a dairy farm near Aarhus, a residence permit in progress, and a room booked walking distance from work.

What made it fast

"I had my documents ready and answered messages quickly," he says. "Bixter did the visa and the housing — I just had to show up prepared." The hardest part, he admits, was the Danish winter, not the paperwork.

A year in, Andrés is mentoring two new arrivals from the Philippines. His advice: be honest about your skills, and pick a sector you can see yourself in for more than one season.
